Wrap Up _ TBR _ T5W-6

Hey howdy hey! I can’t believe it’s the end of May! (Oh hey, that rhymes!) I feel like I was just posting my April wrap up. This month seriously flew by. I feel like this summer is going to be over before I know it, but we will get into that in a little bit. First I want to fill you guys in on what I read in May, and then I want to tell you about what I’m going to be up to this summer, because I’m so excited!!!

What I read:

  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor: 5/5 stars
  • Please Don’t Tell by Laura Tims: *still thinking about my rating*
  • The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh: 2.5/5 stars
  • Genius: The Game by Leopoldo Gout (review already up!): 4/5 stars
  • The Young Elites by Marie Lu: 3/5 stars
  • Ivory and Bone by Julie Eshbaugh: 2.5/5 stars

  • The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot: 4/5 stars
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: 5/5 stars
  • The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman: 4/5 stars

My Blogiversary!

June is when I celebrate my birthday….and my blog’s birthday! On June 11, I turn one year closer to 30 (yikes) and on June 12, my blog turns one! I really can’t believe that I have been blogging for a year already. It went by so fast! And I am still amazed at how absolutely wonderful this community is! I could keep gushing for a while, but I will save that for another post. Keep an eye out for my reflections on my year of blogging as well as a giveaway to celebrate!

Bookish events in June:

Barnes and Noble is having their first ever B-Fest Teen Book Festival to help me celebrate my birthday! Ok, so maybe they didn’t organize the nationwide event just to honor me, but it falls on my birthday, so I can pretend, right? My lovely author friend, Caragh M. O’Brien, will be visiting a Barnes and Noble near me, so I get to spend my birthday with her surrounded by books! What could be better?!?!

You have probably already seen me talking about this (I mean, I’ve practically been screaming about it on Twitter), but in case you haven’t heard, I am going to ALA Annual in Orlando at the end of June! I could not be more excited! I am turning the trip into a mini vacation for myself as well, so I can’t wait to bask in the Florida sunshine, surround myself with amazing books, and spend time with some even more amazing people. I already know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience. Will you be there??? I would love to meet you!

Got any tips for me?

I’m going to be traveling like crazy this summer, so that means that almost all of my posts will be scheduled way ahead of time. This is a totally new experience for me, because I rarely ever schedule posts far in advance. This is where I need your help. Do you have any tips for what keeps you and your blog organized? How do you not lose track of what you have scheduled and what you have to do? Also, any tips on how to stay organized while traveling? I would love any help I can get! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by guys! I hope you all have a wonderful June and will help me celebrate! Until next time…

When you are about to have the most exciting month of your life…..

…..blame it on the books.

ARC Review: The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye

Sitting here writing this review, I feel like I need to choose my words carefully so I don’t upset anyone. The Crown’s Game has had a ton of hype leading up to it’s release. It seems like half of my Twitter feed has changed their pictures to the cover of this book (which confuses the heck out of me by the way!) and people are practically begging for this book. […]

Late Night Friday Reads 5/13/16

Happy Friday everyone! I’m super glad it’s the weekend. It has been a long week at work and my reading life has been quite an adventure this week as well. I actually managed to finish three books this week, which is awesome! But I feel very ‘meh’ about my reading lately. I haven’t read a really fantastic book in a long time, and I am dying to find a five […]

ARC Review | The Imitation Game: Alan Turing Decoded by Jim Ottaviani

I’ve never reviewed a graphic biography before, so this is a fun first for me! I picked this book up at ALA Midwinter, and it really intrigued me. Honestly, I didn’t know very much about who Alan Turing was before I read this, but I have always been interested in the German Enigma machines of World War II and the incredible scientists that managed to crack the codes. I thought […]

Review: More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

Be still, my heart. Adam Silvera, will you marry me? (Ok, I know this isn’t going to happen, but there’s no harm in trying, right?) I have definitely found one of my new favorite authors in Adam Silvera and I am dying to get my hands on more of his writing immediately. In case you haven’t guessed already, I LOVED More Happy Than Not. I am not typically a fan […]

Hola, everyone! I just got home from a Cinco de Mayo party at work and I am feeling very festive! I’m glad it’s Friday and I’m ready to spend lots of time with my books this weekend! 🙂 This week has been a very slow reading week for me. I am currently trying to work my way through Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling and Daughter of […]
