What a disappointing reading month I had. I was in a massive reading / blogging slump for the first three weeks of November. I managed to finish four books this month, but I basically read all of them within the last week of the month. I am out of my slump now and I am ready to read a ton in December, but here is what I managed to finish in November:
Soulless by Gail Carriger (Goodreads)
My Rating: 5/5 stars
This is the book that finally pulled me out of my slump. I LOVED this book. It is a historical / paranormal tale that is full of snarky comments and witty retorts and hilariously awkward situations. I loved the plot line and the writing style (and the male lead, Lord Maccon – he is amazing). It has been a long time since I have read a book and immediately wanted to pick up the sequel. But as soon as I finished Soulless, I was dying to pick up book two, Changeless. I really loved this book and I can’t wait to continue on with the series. Gail Carriger has become one of my new favorite authors.
Oleah Chronicles: Truth by Michelle Johnson (Goodreads)
My Rating: 3/5 stars
This was a fun and interesting read about mythical creatures called Oleah, human and lion hybrids from a different planet. Check out my full review here.
The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan (Goodreads)
My Rating: 5/5 stars
As I expected, I loved this book. I think so far book two, The Sea of Monsters, is my favorite in the series, but I still really enjoyed this one. It’s so much fun following Percy and his friends on their adventures and I can’t wait to continue reading this series.
Saga, Volume Three by Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples (Goodreads)
My Rating: 4.25/5 stars
Every time I read another installment of Saga, I am blown away once again by how much this story sucks me in. I think I liked Volume Two just slightly more than Volume Three, but I am still so in love with this story. I would have picked up Volume Four as soon as I finished reading this, but I don’t own it yet! Hopefully Santa will bring it to me for Christmas!
Keep an eye out for my crazy December TBR in a few days! I am being slightly over-ambitious with the books I want to read before the end of the year. Now that I am out of my slump, I am ready to read, read, read!
What did you read in November? Have you read any of the books I read this month?
When you feel all slumpy…..
…..blame it on the books.
