Well, I am pretty horrible at sticking to my TBRs, but I am going to try really hard in the month of September. I want to take it pretty easy this month, though. I am still feeling a little burnt out from all the readathons I have done lately. I have a couple readalongs I want to participate in this month, as well as some books that have just been sitting on my shelf for way too long. So here goes – hopefully I can (somewhat) stick to my plans this month.

The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness (Goodreads)

Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta (Goodreads)

Both of these books are selections for the Reads with Friends readalongs in September. The group will be reading The Knife of Never Letting Go from August 31-September 6 and Finnikin of the Rock from September 14-September 20. I really enjoy reading books along with this group, and I am so happy with the selections for this month because I have been anxious to get to both of these books for a while now.

The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan (Goodreads)

The Pirate’s Wish by Cassandra Rose Clark (Goodreads)

I have made a promise to myself that I will make an effort to read two sequels a month. Lately I have been starting a lot of new series and it is getting a little out of control. I need to make some progress on getting these series finished. So I will be continuing the awesome Percy Jackson and the Olympians series with The Sea of Monsters and finishing The Assassin’s Curse duology by reading The Pirate’s Wish.

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (Goodreads)

This is a book that I have been wanting to get to for a while, but I have been waiting to be in the right mood before I dive into it. I received this book as a gift from family, and I really want to read it before I see them for the holidays, so it is finally time for me to jump into this book. I have heard nothing but great things about it, so hopefully I will love it.

If I manage to finish all of these books, I would love to get something else read before October gets here. But if I just manage to get these finished, I will be very happy with my progress.

What are you reading in September? What should I read if I manage to finish all of these books?

…..blame it on the books.

Review: Tricks by Ellen Hopkins

Tricks by Ellen Hopkins (Goodreads) Tricks is a story of love – love that is misguided, love that is misinterpreted, love that goes wrong. In her signature beautiful poetic writing style, Ellen Hopkins takes the reader on a journey that interweaves the lives of five teenagers who are desperate to be loved and are trying to figure out what saying “I love you” really means. Let me introduce you to […]

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! This week we are supposed to discuss book series that we wish had more books. I thought about this topic all month, trying desperately to come up with a list. But in the end, I have decided that I don’t really have an answer to this week’s Top 5 Wednesday prompt. However, since […]

Review: The Birthmarked Trilogy by Caragh M. O’Brien

Birthmarked, Prized, and Promised by Caragh M. O’Brien (Goodreads)   The Birthmarked trilogy introduces us to our heroine, Gaia Stone, a teenage midwife living in a society about 400 years in the future. She lives in a unique world, in which a slightly ramshackle, dystopian community and a scientifically advanced city exist side-by-side, separated by just a wall. The city inside the wall, the Enclave,  is a pristine, white safe […]

Top 5 Wednesday 8/19/15: Top 5 Tropes I Hate

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! I really struggled with last month’s topic of discussing tropes we love. So when I saw that this month we would be discussing tropes we hate I jumped for joy! Generally I don’t enjoy most tropes at all. But the ones that I really dislike the most are the ones that have to […]

Top 5 Wednesday 8/12/15: Top 5 Favorite Required Reading

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! Wow, this was a really fun week for me. I took a trip to my parents house, where all of my old schoolbooks are stored, and took a look at the shelves while reminiscing about my required reading and the book reports I had to write while I was growing up. I am […]

Bout of Books 14!

That’s right! I am participating in yet another read-a-thon! That will be three read-a-thons over the course of four weeks for me. I am slightly exhausted from all this reading, but Bout of Books is a pretty low-key read-a-thon, so I still want to participate. This will be my first time participating in Bout of Books, and I am really excited to jump right in! Work is going to make […]

Top 5 Wednesday 8/5/15: Top 5 Favorite Maps

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! Oh, maps, how I love thee. Maps are a staple in the world of fantasy novels, and sometimes it seems as though a great map is the mark of a great book. It always puts a smile on my face when I flip open the cover of a brand new book and find […]

Review: The Harrow by Karen Carr

The Harrow by Karen Carr (Goodreads) I won a copy of The Harrow in a Goodreads giveaway and have agreed to write a review with my honest opinion. The Harrow follows our main character Callie, after a seemingly normal trip to her local YMCA ends with her lost in another world and another time. Callie has no idea where she is or how she got there. Before she has a chance […]

#TBRTakedown 2.0 Wrap Up

I didn’t manage to finish all of the challenges for #TBRTakedown 2.0, but I still managed to complete 6 books, and I at least started a book for each of the challenges. It was really fun to participate in this readathon and keep track of how everyone was doing on Twitter. This readathon was created by Shannon at leaninglights and I really hope she hosts another one soon! So here’s […]
