I wasn’t tagged to do this, but it looked like fun, so I wanted to hop on board! This tag was created by ReadLikeWildFire and Ely Jayne. Definitely check out their video and blog post to see what they have been up to this year!

It was impossible to pick just one answer for all of these questions. I have read so many fantastic books this year and I am hoping to read many more!

Alright, here we go with the questions:

1. Best book you’ve read so far in 2015

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (Goodreads)

If You Ask Me: And Of Course You Won’t by Betty White (Goodreads) [Only a 2 hour audiobook read by Betty herself – go borrow it from your library and have a listen. She’s amazing.]

Angelfall by Susan Ee (Goodreads)

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (Goodreads)

2. Best sequel you’ve read so far in 2015

Prized by Caragh M. O’Brien (Goodreads) [No second book syndrome here, people!]

3. New release you haven’t read yet, but want to

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera (Goodreads)

The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh (Goodreads)

4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year

The Rest of Us Just Live Here by Patrick Ness (Goodreads) [Give it to me NOW!!!!]

Winter by Marissa Meyer (Goodreads)

5. Biggest disappointment

Matched by Allie Condie (Goodreads)

The Harrow by Karen Carr (Goodreads)

6. Biggest surprise

7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you)

Laini Taylor

Caragh M. O’Brien

Patrick Rothfuss

8. Newest fictional crush

Raffe from Angelfall by Susan Ee (Goodreads)

Nikolai from Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo (Goodreads)

Leon from the Birthmarked trilogy by Caragh M. O’Brien (Goodreads)

Sean Kendrick from The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater (Goodreads) [He intrigues me!]

9. Newest favorite character

Karou from Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (Goodreads)

10. Book that made you cry

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness and Siobhan Dowd (Goodreads) [Read this one with a box of tissues….absolutely beautiful.]

11. Book that made you happy

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline (Goodreads)

12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year

I think the only book to film adaptations I’ve seen this year were Divergent and Catching Fire. And I HATED Divergent, so I guess Catching Fire wins!

13. Favorite review you’ve written this year (Booktube version: Favorite video you have done so far in this year)

I haven’t actually done too many reviews because I haven’t been blogging for very long. I am currently working on a review of the Birthmarked trilogy by Caragh M. O’Brien and it is probably the most fun I’ve had while working on a post. Keep an eye out for it very soon! [UPDATE: Read my review here!]

14. Most beautiful book you’ve bought so far this year (or received)

Original hardcover edition of The Diviners by Libba Bray!!!!! (Goodreads)

S. by J.J. Abrams and Doug Dorst (Goodreads)

15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

According to the goals I set at the beginning of the year, I need to read/finish:

The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (Goodreads)

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan (Goodreads)

Fairest by Marissa Meyer (Goodreads)

Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson (Goodreads)

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin (Goodreads)

Furies of Calderon by Jim Butcher (Goodreads)

Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor (Goodreads)

I better get to work!!!!

When you have read so many fantastic books this year that you can’t POSSIBLY pick just one favorite…..

…..blame it on the books.

Top 5 Wednesday 7/29/15: Top 5 Favorite Character Tropes

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! This week’s topic was seriously hard for me. If I’m being honest, most character tropes pretty much drive me nuts. Kickass female protagonist? Been there, done that. Bad boy who turns out to be really deep and caring if you just give him a chance? Blah, blah, blah. Best friends falling in love? […]

#TBRTakedown 2.0 TBR!

I am loving how many readathons I have been able to participate in recently! I’m participating in two in July and hopefully two more in August! They are really pushing me to get some books read. I don’t really mind having a ton of books on my TBR shelf, but it still feels good to see a pile of books I have completed. The next readathon is #TBRTakedown 2.0, created […]

Top 5 Wednesday 7/22/15: Top 5 Side Characters That Deserve Their Own Series

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! I found this topic to be a little hard to write about. There are some side characters that I love, but it was still hard for me to choose some worthy of their own series. Also, I am sitting on a plane writing this, so I don’t have any of my books to […]

Cramathon Wrap Up

Cramathon was created by Whitney at WhittyNovels and Kiara at Kiara Soleil. The goal of this readathon is to read as many of the shortest books on your shelves as possible. It’s a sneaky little way to increase the number of books you have read this year (and, boy did it help me a lot). To keep things interesting, there were a couple challenges to complete. Here’s how I did! […]

Top 5 Wednesday 7/15/15: Top 5 Most Anticipated Pre-Orders for the Rest of the Year

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! Well, of course it is my luck that I actually posted a list of my most anticipated pre-orders four days before the July T5W topics went up. Well, that original post was a Top 7 list, but since today is the 15th, two of my most anticipated releases are already out and probably […]

Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer (Goodreads) Between the Lines introduces us to our main character Delilah, a fifteen-year-old high-schooler who discovers a very special fairy tale tucked away in the shelves of her school’s library. One day, the heroic prince in the fairy tale, Oliver, starts talking to Delilah. That’s right, she can hear him talking, and he tells her his biggest desire – to […]

Top 5 Wednesday 7/8/15: Top 5 Things On My Bookshelf That Aren’t Books

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey. To check out everyone in the T5W family, click here! This week’s topic is pretty interesting, because obviously my favorite thing about my bookshelf is that it is covered in books! But I do have a few knick-knacks that I have collected over the years that make my bookshelf unique. I like this topic because it is giving us a peek at what […]

July 2015 TBR

Man, there is a lot going on in July. I am totally in the mood to read like crazy and knock some books off my TBR, and I am in luck because there are a bunch of readathons going on this month. Unfortunately, this month is crazy for me because I have a big work trip right in the middle of the July, so I’m not sure how productive I […]

June 2015 Wrap Up

Compared to the 12 books I read in the month of May, I did a pretty bad job during the month of June. I was on vacation in May, so that’s the only reason I managed to finish so many books. In June I completed 4 books, but two of them had been started in May, so they were already halfway done. It was my birthday in June, so I was […]
